So I have an issue with my 2015 slk 55 and wondering if any of you folks have any ideas/solutions.

The engine temperature warning light is acting like a yo-yo!! One minute the orange warning thermometer is proudly displaying in the centre of the dashboard, seconds later its gone and the car is back to normal temp, then seconds later the gauge is down to 80 degrees!!

Only seems to happen when i'm driving. In other words if I turn the car on and just let it warm up it gets to 93 degrees and doesn't budge.

Car runs fine, coolant levels seem correct and the fans appear to cut it (hard to tell cos they're quite quiet).

The car has done 6k miles and I've started using it again recently (well the past month) after it was parked up for 4/5 months.

Any thoughts. Car is still under warranty, but i'm soooooooooooooo scared of Mercedes dealership!!

Many thanks.

If it is under warranty then get the dealer to look at it.
Why are you scared?
I have had a few issues on my Mercedes fixed under warranty and found the process fairly painless. As a bonus I got to try out a few other Mercedes models as loan cars.

Probably just a sensor acting up. Given it's under warranty drop by your local dealer and have it checked for any error codes it's giving, then have it fixed under warranty. Agree to MB main dealers sometimes being a bit st, have had that experience myself.

If you need help in finding a recommended main dealer in London specifically for an AMG, then head over to slkworld.com - sure our UK folks on the forum will have a recommendation for you.
