2013, 34k, FSH

Planning on a remap in the near future

Any other improvements worth looking at?

250 gives decent shove in the SLK, I think you can get another 30 bhp with a remap and it'll be a lovely cruiser, though it doesn't need it right away.

A really nice car, I think, OP and great for country pubs in the sun, especially in your part of the world! Not sure it needs any mods, those wheels are great and didn't make it onto too many Mercs of the period.

Unfortunately I'm a big fella and always found the SLK driving positing too upright, otherwise there would be one on the drive.

I’ve had two of those 250 diesels and they’re brilliant; 500nm of boot up the arse and 70mpg commuting - bloody brilliant! Not sure why I’d need a remap.

As to tits saying “ditch it for a petrol” of do ps off; baa baa I want to fit in on PH. My previous car to the SLKs was an SL500 V8 and there wasn’t that much in it performance wise. Admittedly the diesel sounded crap, but in every other respect it was way better than the petrol and in my opinion better than the v8 in real world use.

It was a joke anyway but you asked what to spend money on to upgrade.

I’ve owned diesels, even powerful ones and I’ve driven hundreds. They make great motorway cars but everywhere else the throttle response is woeful. I’d never buy another. I still stand by the best upgrade is to have a petrol engine and spend extra on fuel.

Remap from Celtic tuning is supposed to up it from 210 to 255bhp & a decent amount of extra torque.

Hopefully there will be a lot a weekends as good / better than this weekend.

Good fun in the twisties & enough shove to overtake anything I need to.
