E350 buying advice please!

I'm considering buying an E350 coupe, around a 64/65 plate example. Budget is around £20k. Any buying advice out there from owners of these cars?

I had a look at one recently that I really liked but I noticed that the brushed metal insert on the large plastic engine cover was coming unstuck and a little deformed. I wondered if this could be a sign of overheating in the engine bay, or if it is common? Have any E350 owners noticed this before? The car in question only shows 26k miles, and the overall condition seems to back this up.

Have you taken the cover off? Very easy to do. You can look at the area where the plastic is deformed and then check what component could be overheating underneath. The turbo can get very hot regardless and it is on the top of the engine so that might be the cause. It is in the centre and rear most of the engine. I've got an E350 estate and it's a lovely car. Only had 1 problem with it so far on the rear air suspension
