Help please -limp mode
Discussion
Afternoon
Hoping for some assistance
My 2014 cls 350d came up with an eml light today. Also seems to be in limp mode )reduces power)
Transmission no longer has ‘manual’ option (goes from e to s)
Re map last month - guy that did it is going to look at it but away until Tuesday. He thought it unusual to develop a remap fault after a month 2k miles but was helpful and didn’t dent it was possible.
Any other ideas? Crystal ball I realise
Cheers

I am your expert on this.
Just solved mine without having to spend any money. The issue is the pipe that runs from each air filter to the turbo and air getting in that is affecting the sensors.
What I spotted in my case was that the crank case breather was loose. I used extra insulation tape to make sure it was a tight fit and then all was back to normal. If you call Mercedes they will say 'get a new piece' about £800
You need to check that all joints are tight and that there are no cracks in the pipe, see how you get on and report back.

I had exactly the same problem 18 months ago on my 62 plate cls350. These parts are time expired. All the forums say so. I was lucky. I kicked up a amjor stink with mb uk and they eventually replaced the egr temperature control valves and all pipework and covered 95% of the cost. From memory the problem cost me £45 to fix. This was after a few strongly worded emails tht i would be contacting magazines etc. The parts replaced also came with 2 year parts and labour warranty which was pretty nice! I was only 3 months out of warranty and mb originally were not interested. Kick up stink its a well known problem with diesel mercs!!
