Its BROWN!!!!! - interiors
Discussion
As a younger man always chose my cars with the standard colours (black on black / silver with grey interior)
Just recently been looking at replacing my current model and my wish list has been for a high spec Mercedes.
Unfortunately all the high spec cars that I am finding are coming up with some ghastly interior colours. At a push I could except the almond beige leather but the chocolate brown leather is a real turn off.
Who in their right mind are picking these interior colours?

OP, I think you're outvoted on interior colour preference.
Sods law though isn't it. Most of us would pay a premium for brown, you're in the market for a top spec car and all you're finding is brown.
At resale time you will be glad you have brown. They are not so common as they are an option that many can't stretch to.

Red > Brown > Tan > Cream > Black/Grey on dark car. (MB have interesting names for colours).
However, what really sets this imaginative choice of interiors off are dashboard colour choice and door cards.
The icing on the cake for me is a pan roof.
If an E63 in coveline or possibly cavansite with bengal red or red pepper came up -

Thanks for all your replies.
Myself I am not adverse to non black and silver.
I think the Bengal Red Leather is super as well as the Burnt Oranges from some years ago on the Bentley GT / Aston Martin Vanquish and also the Mclaren MP4-12C.
But the wife says she would start calling me a Porn Star if I bought a car with those colours.
Also agree with the poster about the Piano Black fascia. In my mind you cannot have enough black. The silver / aluminium is just awful.
But coming back to the chocolate brown.
I am a child of the seventies when BL was king of the road. It is imprinted on mind the awful cars they made and all in that brown colour.

That would be half agreeing with me then - I love the black ash wood but wouldnt have it with black paint and black leather, its just too much.I think the black wood trim looks great with the very light ivory/chalk leather seats and door card inserts and dark blue paint
Vote for brown here - looks so classy.
We are currently looking for a new CLK convertible for Mrs UtterPiffle.
Current requirement is:
- 280 or 350 petrol
- has to be 2008 or 2009 to avoid balancer shaft issue
- xenon headlights
- heated seats
- under 70k miles
- not red or blue
You can probably guess which are my requirements and which are hers
Rather difficult to find that spec. She's now decided she would really like brown leather. I fear she may be driving her old knackered CLK for some time...

I spent ages looking for triple black, then lucked in with a Sport + (or + Sport depending on who you speak to) so it's black, black and diamond cut wheels, piano black trims, black seats with cloth inserts then lifted with a Pano roof / red stitching and seatbelts, good job we all like different things :-)
Personally, I like black in a Merc (if there's a sunroof or pano roof) or cream (if there isn't).
In my current E Class the cream extends to the door cards and lightens up what would otherwise be a very dark place.
Normally I don't like anything else although for some reason some Alfa's get away with a tan interior.
My BIL specced a dark red leather the interior of a gunmetal BMW 4 series. It was...errr......challenging to say the least.
Some of the off-piste MC interior colours are truly hideous to my eyes.
