Surviving in North West for R129

Hi,
New to Merc ownership, with a 1991 300SL

Looking at the list of specialists in north west, there seem to be a few in Cheshire
(Warrington/Wirral).. before I start ringing round, can anyone give a recommendation, or warning.

Nick Webster over towards Macclesfield is highly rated.

What's the mileage and history like on the car? There are some easy wins like replacing all the fuses and doing the cabin air filter that you don't need to pay anyone else to do.

Was hoping for places nearer to Chester/North Wales.

Mileage is just under 70k, but not got history, although it’s supposed to have been done by Merc dealer in South Wales.

I’ve always used Andy at autobarn he’s on the welsh road near where two mills used to be. I take my E class, slk, and cl to him and he’s always done a great job of looking after them, he works on all mercedes of all different ages, there’s always something nice and interesting in his workshop. I will try both those, although autobarn may be favourite - he doesn’t have a fancy website!! - always a sign he doesn’t need to look for work!!
