There's a '98 R170 SLK automatic stuck in a dealer's yard with no battery, no key, stuck in Drive and I need to move it. I can't see a lock override near the gearshift but I'd probably need the ignition key anyway. Any ideas? The winch isn't strong enough to drag the car up on to the truck.

The car is gong to be broken so not too worried about damage I just don't want to spend hours and hours doing it.

Any ideas?

Can’t remember exactly but is there a flap at the end of the shift pattern? Stick a screwdriver or pen down there that should work.

Not that I could see, no. Google gives solutions for most recent MB except the early SLK, I fear it may not have one.

Thanks, turboz.

Not there ?

If that doesn’t work sorry out of ideas.
I know the trip tonic boxes have one I’ve used it previously.

Ah, that's interesting. Maybe I wasn't poking it hard enough! Thanks again. I shall go to the yard and give it a try.
