I purchased a Mercedes C class year 2011 I had a fire in the boot/trunk
It destroyed the car a right off and burnt down part of my home.

Mercedes are claiming they have no Knowledge of issues with UK car but agree there was an issue in the USA can anyone help I am about to lose a fortune in court costs if I can't prove there have been issues in the UK

Why didn't your insurance cover this? Mercedes have a reputation for taking people all the way with legal action - they're not a company who will roll over to keep it quiet.

Was it a light fitting that caused the deflagration?

Yes it was a rear light that started the fire by over heating

Out of interest why not?

How much damage was done to the house?

Well interested because on the other thread OP said his house was destroyed, and on here it was part burnt down and nearly burnt down.

Seems a bit of clarity would be good.

Ok so I'm clear on what's happened here;
- Your Merc was parked in your garage.
- Your merc spontaneously combusted and burnt to cinders and caused considerable damage to your garage.
- the car insurers wrote the car off and paid out for the car but not the damage to the house?

If correct two questions for you;
1) what reason did your car insurers give for not paying out for the damage to the building?
2) what have your building insurance company said for not paying out?
