Extended warranty on 2014 E63s
Discussion
Evening all,
The extended warranty on my 2014 e63s is up in a couple of weeks. I cant remember how much it was for 2017 (didn't make a single claim) but this year it is a whopping £2300!
Is it worth going for or should I look to someone else like warranty direct (who are less than half the price)?
Thanks for reading.

£2,300 sounds an awfully large amount, though at least it should cover the majority of items, unlike a third party company.
Having said that, there's not a lot which goes wrong with these cars to justify spending that amount, the biggest problem probably being the classic "rattle on start up" which happens often and is a documented fault. Google "m157 rattle on start" and look at the first hit. I had mine done just before I sold it, as I wanted it perfect for the new owner (he's a mate anyway). I can't remember exactly what it cost me, definitely well under £500 though, but Mercedes contributed a fair amount as a goodwill gesture as I'd owned the car for 3+ years and it had a full history with them.
I'd personally put the money away in some form of fund, as these cars tend to be generally reliable apart from the above.
ETA: The document which will pop up on your Google search about the rattle is dated from 2013 but it has been updated, the last one I saw was from 2016.
