Hi all. Wondering if anyone has experienced this. It seems to have come on with the cold weather circa two weeks or so ago. Under reasonably heavy load accels, not full load but reasonable 1/2 pedal perhaps. I get full on cut out of power. It’s like hitting a brick wall. Back off and it recovers I.e it’s not stalling. It’s repeatable until the engine is properly warm.

Just checked engine module with a scan tool and no codes. No lights on the dash. It’s not traction control as this is at say 60/70 mph on a dry road and I’m not pushing it to traction breaking type limits. Need to interrogate other modules when I can get my hands on a proper scan tool but....

Any ideas?

Are you getting a flash of any warning lights when it happens? I.e ESP/ABS - intervening?

Are you switching the ignition on/off to reset it after the fault occurs? What happens after the fault?

Imagine a sensor playing up, along the lines of a MAF or something. Obviously impossible to say, but to diagnose further you're going to need to be looking at live (Sensor) readings whilst replicating the fault to get any further. Unless you get lucky and it happens enough/for long enough to store a fault.

Sorry I totally missed your reply. Thanks for said reply by the way.

No flashing lights seen no.

Don’t do anything to clear it. Just back off then all becomes normal again until you floor it. It’s not a torque derate from the pcm. It’s very odd. Once warm you can go WOT with no issue.

It also appears to have oddly fixed itself now the weather has warmed up. I’m stumped tbh. Still not had a chance to put a proper code reader on it yet though.

I occasionally get a similar issue in my CL55 if I have very low fuel and floor it. I assumed it was due to the fuel sloshing and cutting out slightly.

Oddly it seems to have sorted itself out and seem fine again now. Only things that have changed which I can see are that the ambient temp is now warmer and the other thing which is playing on my mind is that I had filled the car with tesco momentum which i never do unless they do a decent offer.

I had similar with my xjr. Turned out to be a fuel filter. Only happened at motorway speeds.
