W212 E Class auto boot motor
Discussion
Hello
Hoping someone with a W212 E class with the remote boot close option could have a look at the motor for this in their car. It is positioned in the boot, up under the parcel shelf. Rectangular prism shape, maybe 40 cm x 10cm face. On mine there is a whole bunch of exposed wiring harnesses in the centre section - almost looks to me as if there is a plastic cover missing. I bought the car as Mercedes approved pre-owned, I raised it with the salesman at delivery, who allegedly researched this thoroughly with Service Department and found that this is a normal "feature". Looks very odd to me and the explanation reeks of BS. Would appear to be at risk of the wiring getting snagged on a suitcase or something needing a bit of encouragement to fit into the boot, and perhaps this is what happened to the cover that is meant to be there. Cheers
