New model A45 AMG
Discussion
I got a current facelift gen, So watching these announcements:
Rumour has it, 55k starting price, 420bhp
Will be at the Geneva motor show next month, Delivery expected from 2019>
If it looks up to the part I'm sure it'll part me with my money. Whatever happens I'm sure it'll be better than the current gen RS3 which is basically what this car has been made to destroy (Predator)

you do realise the engine on he A45 is good for over 600bhp standard?
The only hold backs are the gearbox and turbo
Chances are Mercedes will have sorted these problems next time especially the gearbox, which honestly has been the one drawback to A45 ownership, I've had no problems but others not so lucky.
Audi likewise has breaks they cannot even fix from the previous generation.
And no Audi won't just dial the power up I'm afraid as standard as they cannot, The RS4 comes in at 440bhp, The 911/boxster/Cayman significantly less. Audi are aligned way to heavily into the VAG group (obviously) and cannot start taking sales from other cars deemed higher up the tree
Mercedes on the other hand can just do what they want in fairness
Remember this is Mercedes 1st proper hot hatch, Audi have been making the RS3 for years.
A45 comes with a fully forged closed block, titanium studs, Steel pistons the works.
And my mapped A45 isn't far off that now without the weight in the front end

600hp from a 2 litre engine?! Didn't realise apologies but it must be ready to grenade at that level surely?
TX.
Edit - Audi can up their power as they simply move all their cars upwards. New RS4 is sat at 450hp so well under powered vs capability too.

People push power levels way beyond that in a mk7 Golf R,TX.
Even a MK6 Golf R ran 500+bhp on a big turbo with standard internals.
Yes they wouldn't last for long I'm sure but people still do it
The A45 already has upgraded internals. Like I say a big turbo and better gearbox that car will be a rocket
