I have a 2007 C220CDI (auto) sport coupe, only had the car a couple of months but the mpg seems a little low.

Have to be honest and say the car does at most 10 / 15 miles a day and yesterday was the first chance I had to give it a long run of 40 miles.

With it mostly being short runs does around 25mpg sound about right, on the run yesterday it crept up to 36mpg.

Thanks all

Just to update this thread, it is averaging around 32 mpg

Not brilliant for a diesel

My 2007 C55 returned 27mpg yesterday driving Winchester - London, for context.

Yes, as a temp measure I had a 1.4 Toyota Corrolla, it was ok on fuel on short runs but was crap on a motorway as at 70mph it was pulling 4000rpm

I guess the C class would be better if I was doing more long runs, just hurts a little to have a diesel only do around 140 miles on half a tank doubt I would see much more than 300 from a tank.
