TVR Sagaris to AMG GT S
Discussion
Hi
Considering changing my Sagaris, pretty much a financial swap to an AMG GT S. Any thoughts Merc owners. Sat in one yesterday and it’s an amazing bit of kit, then went out for a blast in the Sagaris and loved it although the windscreen wipers got stuck on the way back, lol. Typical TVR

Hi Steve
The GTS is not as "exciting" as the Sag, but does have more power.
It is a better drive than the Sag as the power is more easy to tame and the double clutch box makes
it much easier to get the power down.
The interior is not as nice as the Sag IMHO and at the GTS is heavier, it does feel sluggish sometimes
- at least I find it does.
The Sag is more special, but the GTS is far more useable (not that I am one to say)

Slightly different take. I have a Tuscan 4.3 st8six rebuild. Absolutely love it. Every day use merc c63 AMG. I will never sell the Tuscan as it's too special. If I had a sag would not trade it in myself but just my 2p input. Each to their own and a nice position to be in.
Totally agree, I won't trade in the Sag if I had one. I am contemplating the GTC too, but I just don't have the courage to sell the Tuscan. It is just a special car - a proper old school, no driver aids what so ever. It is hard to come by with a proper manual car these days never mind one without ABS and traction control. Proper driver's car!!Every time I drive the Tuscan in the weekends, I still have the butterfly in my stomach. And I have owned it for almost 10 years now.
Not an easy choice in my view, too many differences. GTS is a very fine car, goes reasonably well, sounds good, if not a little 'artificial' at times, is comfortable, well-built, looks good and should be reliable longer-term.
However, it isn't a TVR and, despite all the areas where the TVR is not 'up to date', ie electronics, driver aids, potentially more fragile engine, I'm still not sure what else really gives the same feeling of an old-school 'proper sports car'.
Intended use must be a major factor because, for me, they are quite different cars. The GTSC is a well-rounded 'sports' car which will cover every-day duties very well and with some flair BUT it isn't, IMHO, quite the same as the TVR. One's manual, one's auto. The GTS can cruise/waft if required but the manual TVR seems to want to be 'driven'. All of the time.
