I am the proud owner of a 2012 C63 saloon, great car and was happy with the stock 18" wheels when I first got the car last Sept.
However I am starting to consider an upgrade to the the multi spoke 19"s. I am waiting patiently for a genuine set to become available. (anyone got any they dont' need :-))
My question is round the standard tyre pressure monitoring - do I need to buy special valves for the new wheels or is it possible to transfer from the 18" wheels - or do i need to do this at all ???

Any advice gratefully received confused

You can get either OEM or compatible TPMS valves from most wheel / tyre purveyors. When I got my winter wheels (non-OEM) I just specified I wanted OEM TPMS installed. Plug n play.

If you don't want TPMS, you can have the car coded to avoid any odd messages.

If I was you I would consider some replica wheels as the genuine ones are prone to cracking. Mine cracked just before Christmas and at £600 each from MB if another one goes il definitely go for some aftermarket ones.

As far as I know there are at least 2 TPM systems used, if you have an actual display of the pressures you can access then the wheels have sensors, if you don't then the system uses the relative speed of each wheel using the ABS sensors and the wheels run normal rubber valves
