Whats the difference?
Discussion
One system is to alert you to the fact that there is a presence in your blind spot area.
The other detects if you don't appear to be actively steering and the car suspects that you are about to 'drift' into another lane.
My (Mercedes) car also has a drowsiness detection system which (as I understand it) uses an algorithm to assess steering input and head movement to decide if you are about to nod off. It then bleeps a warning which you then have to press the OK button to switch off. (This sometimes triggers on a long straight motorway stretch if you haven't had to change lanes and are just checking your mirrors by eye movement.) Not that there are many such occasions when driving in the South these days.

I am not sure on the options you are interested in but I have found the Mercedes used car search system really unhelpful with options.
I wanted a car with the dynamic multi contour seats but the drop down search fields have it listed as different entries such as: dynamic multi contour seats, dynamic multi contour seat pack, drivers and passengers multi contour seats, front multi contour seats etc. On the car I was looking for all these were the same option but I had to do multiple searches to find all the available cars.

Thanks for the quick reply but what I wanted to know was what the difference between
ACTIVE Blind Spot Assist and Blind Spot Assist
The only difference I can think is that the second option just has the little light in the wing mirror which turns red when someone is there. Whereas the ACTIVE one is that it throws a wobbly when you try and move into said lane.ACTIVE Blind Spot Assist and Blind Spot Assist
I have the active on mine, it's a good system, I would miss it if I didn't have it.

I was coming to the same conclusion
was about to start a spreadsheet with all the different permutations for the options I needed but gave up the will to live.
