New C220 estate, can the luggage cover be removed?
Discussion
My sister is looking at maybe getting a c220 as a new company car but she has one on loan and she is wondering about the cargo cover..
If I understand her correctly she is saying that it gets in the way when not in use and it does not appear to be detachable.
I get the impression it is permanantly attatched to one half of the rear seat, so you can fold down one seat, but the bar (containing the rolled up cover) still crosses the gap where the seat was making it awkward to use the space you actually create by having the seat folded down, if you get my meaning...
Anyone know what she is talking about? And if this is a 'feature' is there a different model of Merc that has a fully removable cargo cover?
Cheers all.

I've just got one of these, and although I've never actually removed it, the cover 'roll' apparently simply unclips by sliding laterally an inch or so and lifting it out. I imagine you'd probably have to have the seats folded down to do this - if she's got one on loan then it's all described in the handbook.
It would be ridiculous if it didn't remove as it's fastened to the double seat, so you can't fold that down to just leave the single seat unless the 'roll' has been removed.
