I'm pondering indulging in a C63 estate (latest model) and some have the sports exhaust option and some don't. Do Mercedes offer the option of an aftermarket fit? I had a look on their website but couldn't see anything, bit of a deal breaker for me so would be nice to have all answers. Thanks.

Do you mean the switchable exhaust? If so that is what I have on mine. It allows you to open all the valves and leave the car in comfort, I don’t think there is any performance increase though, just a noise thing.

I have a 63s, but there is still a definite difference in sound in sport plus and comfort with the flaps opened manually, so I’m not totally convinced it opens everything anyway.

Hope this helps.

Ps: I have an estate also.

Aye, I was wondering if it could be a retrofit. You can do it for BMWs and Porsches (for example) just not sure if it's possible on a C63. I'm guessing yours came with it?

Yes, sorry mine was a factory fit option. There are a few aftermarket places that will fit a controller for the exhaust valves though.

Out of interest, what did you drive before the C63?

That's quite a jump! Be interested to know why and how you're finding life with the C63 if you'd care to share?

I love it, every trip is an event, the noise, the power, the fact people look straight through it when they hear it as it just looks normal.

I use it every day, do tip runs, school runs put the bikes in the back etc etc.

Should probably have put winter tyres on it, but I just have a bit more control with my right foot when it’s slipperysmile

I will probably keep it another year as I really like the new E63s estate.

From what I understand it's quite difficult to retrofit the sports exhaust - very cost prohibitive.

Cheers, I'd kind've guessed that it might be as the option isn't listed on their site. To be fair, BMW's isn't either but I know that it's a standard upgrade if you want it. Wasn't sure if MB were the same.
