2002 E320 V6 petrol. Any good?

Just £2,000. It's done a fair few miles, 132,000 but has almost entire service history and has some lovely AMG wheels as well as an AMG body kit. Does anyone know what these are like, reliability-wise and also generally as a comfy car? My father in law wants to get something cheap and cheerful to replace the German sports car he can no longer drive due to health issues. £2,000 seems amazing value to me, any advice about this particular model? Oh it's the V6 not the inline 6. Thanking you.

320 v6 is reckoned to be pretty bomb proof....not to be confused with the issues affecting post 2005-2007 Mercedes v6.

Your biggest issue is Rust. Rust, rust and more rust. Check very carefully. Gearbox will be MB 5 speed which is well proven I believe.

So yes, rust is the biggie!

Gearboxes are a bit rubbish as well, so if it is working well, it would be worth doing a fluid change before any issues arise.

Nice comfortable cars that take the miles well, but as mentioned, look for rust!
