The manual for my CL says the AUX socket is in the glovebox however my car has a USB socket rather than a 3.5mm AUX input.

Looking online it seems there is a mix of the type of connections found in the glovebox so I'm not sure whether there is a way of fitting a 3.5mm socket to my car?

I've found reference to some sort of adaptor cable from MB that can be used but is that for use with a proprietary MB socket or do MB piggy back in something in the USB socket? I've also found a cable set that needs plugging in to the back of the COMAND unit?

Anyone got any ideas?

Out of interest, what are you trying to connect into the car via the 3.5mm jack?

The reason I ask it that you can almost certainly connect that same device using one of the current ports.

My E63 (2014) has a proprietary MB cable that I can plug a 3.5mm into. It connects in the arm rest (I have never used it though).

Bluetooth receiver that will allow me to play podcasts through the COMAND unit (media connections aren't supported on the COMAND in my car)

That sounds odd. What year is the car?

Quick update .... another proper look (ie emptying the c**p out of the glovebox!) revealed a hidden set on phono sockets on the top panel!

Two audio, one video which I'll assume will work so will dig out my 3.5mm to phono adaptor and see what happens smile

Thanks for all the input!
