Hi All,

Has anyone been contacted by MBZ/Dealer Network to get this problem sorted?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-41633941

Or are they just waiting for the warning light to appear and then recall the car? Not much use if you're on a long journey...What happens if the warning light appears and then the airbag deploys in whilst driving to dealer....

If the warning light comes on you're supposed to stop and get the car recovered, as I understand it.

And whilst your car is in, it'll get their FREE (they're lovely generous people) 'your wipers/tyres/brakes need replaced as they're 40% worn' healthcheck wink

One of mine falls into the category affected but no contact, and no airbag warning light - so far!

Clockspring wiring seem to have been an issue for ever with MB - I had mine repaired when my late 2004 facelift C Class was 5 yrs old.

The dealer said MB did it under goodwill although I had the old ServicePlus scheme so I wouldn't have expected to pay anyway. Apparently a 3 hour job, so glad I wasn't picking up the bill.
