How does the Merc compare, whats a realistic expectation on mpg, anybody got one ?

I'm bored with the M5 now and would like something abit faster (but with 4-doors) and can't think of anything else 'cept this twin turbocharged V12 mammoth, the performance stats are hugely impressive (500bhp 700ftlb 0-100mph in 9.7sec) but whats the handling like, would it be a huge mistake, is it a glorified school bus ?

€60,000 for a 2002 model (roughly equates to around £30,000ST in the UK) is surely terrific value secondhand ?

Be careful, the first S600's did'nt have the Twin turbo V12. They had a N/A V12 with about 360ish BHP.I can remember when they switched over, was it 03 reg?

Would prefer the S55 AMG to be honest, more sporty. Again this came with an N/A V8 up until a point, again i think it was 03 reg.

MPG.. Worse than the M5

Would an E55 AMG be more of an equivalent to the M5?

I've never driven either but assume the Merc is softer, more relaxing, probably automatic - whereas the M5 more of a bit of a hooligan car?

yuk, this is obviously the NA version then, seemed way too cheap for the money..

360bhp can kiss my ass

There isnt a hell of a lot of AMG anything available in Ireland, so i guess its another M5 or some boyracing go-faster tweaks
