C63 / C63S Deals?
Discussion
Hi everyone,
I previously had a C63 coupe, currently with a 640d when the sensible head kicked in, but now aiming to get back into something fast again, but no rush and will plan for next 6-8 months for delivery.
So I've seen a stack of amazing deals for M3's and M4's with 18% discounts and 4% APR meaning £5k deposit and £600 a month is achievable but I'm not seeing any C63 deals yet.
I like the M3, looks fantastic and the interior is great too. The Competition pack makes it mighty fast, but it's still let down by the weak sound.
Ultimately I'm looking for a C63S Estate or saloon and I want to PCP, but even the lease deals are horrifically expensive.
I think the price will come down when the new RS4 is launched, but anyone got any experience or thoughts. Luckily I'm not in a rush, but based on the current prices I'm seeing it's hard to stick my money in a C63 when the M3/M4 is so much cheaper.

I'm in the same boat.
My C63 went back to Merc last October, and I am keen to get back into another AMG. Specifically the C63S with Premium Pack, but there are no good deals to be had as of yet from Merc.
Yes, The M3/M4 appears to be the better buy at the moment, it would explain why there are about a dozen in my locality and absolutely no new C63's to be seen anywhere.
At the moment, there are great deals to be had on E63 though (but not E63S unfortunately), but the wife tells me it's an old mans car.
She is wrong, so wrong.

So I am in a 14 plate C63 and need to make a call on whether I buy the car or give it back to Merc in September. At first I thought another C63, but the more I think of it I just see it as a £65k that looks too similar to an AMG line spec car. Does it look special enough? Not sure. Coupled with the fact that the deals are not tempting me into another C63, I started to look at more sensible options like the GLA45 - can't do it...again not special enough. Now thinking about an M6 in coupe form. It has power, amazing interior, rare and cracking deals. More importantly I see it as a £90k car that can be had for £60k. What else is out there? Audi RS6, RS7 perhaps.
What this has taught me is that the C63 I am currently in has set a very high bar and for the first time in a long time I don't really have a clue what next. Maybe I just buy the car from Merc and keep it another year, it still puts a big smile on my face every time I look at it.
How is the 640d to drive? Have a 535d M sport with the same engine and just love the effortless power and comfort.

What deals are about on the E63 at the moment?
I've currently got an F10 M5 due back at the end of the year.
I'm looking at C63 and S, along with E63, RS6 and M5.
If timing works out I quite fancy the new E43
I have noticed RS6 as per 3 years ago when I looked have silly PCP deals that are in no way comparable to M5/E63

The 640d is a huge difference to the C63 and you really cannot compare, if you do you will be disappointed. What this has taught me is that the C63 I am currently in has set a very high bar and for the first time in a long time I don't really have a clue what next. At the time for me it was the right car, I was doing a lot of miles and my C63 was end of lease and needed a major service, brakes and VED so happy to avoid the bills! The 640d is a cracking car, but its not a C63. I don't do the mileage currently and fuel is cheap so I'm happy to get back into something less frugal! The 640 has an epic interior, drives great for a non M car and I barely ever find myself at a petrol station!! Mine is also chipped to around 375bhp and 730NM of torque so it can still move well!
I also considered both the M6 and M5 but my issue is that they are too big, you just can't hustle a 6 series down a country road like you can with the C63. Also with the M6 you are a bit too insulated and can't really appreciate the power. The noise made the C63 special.
I was off the new C63 until I drove the C63S after being in my 640 for 12 months... I got that feeling back, noise was great, car felt great and the power was epic. So even though I think it looks average and the interior is a little naff I crave the engine. It's annoying that it's such a compromise with cars.
Based on the current deals I am struggling to see passed the M4 Competition pack.

.
I bought mine from MB after my Agility was up and I am keeping it for another year (at least). I am fully aware of the depreciation and the subsequent dent it's making in the cash I'd have if I sold it but like you say, it's set the bar mighty high and there's not much to follow on from it in class; it's a case of either upgrade, downgrade or buy something faster but older really, like a GTR perhaps but find me one that's not been tuned or abused. I look at the C63 and it makes me smile, I smile when I start it and if the moment comes when I get bored wafting along in "C", I knock it down a few pegs and pin myself back in the seat or open the sunroof to listen to the exhaust. .
I like the idea of an M4 as they look so mean and wide and I see 1st gen's at mid £40k now if brand new finance deals weren't so great but, I was underwhelmed with the "standard" car that I drove when I looked at BMW buying out my Agility, and therefore I'd like at least to ECU tune it. The problem with it is BMW's anal dislike for stuff like that, their encryption of ECU's and zero-tolerance policy on warranty claims for messed-with cars unless you get a good dealer.
Maybe I just keep my C63 indefinitely, until the new C63 Coupe has some offers.

I am in a similar boat - have a '14 place C63 which goes back in July - no idea what to get next
One minute its an RS6, next its a M6 GC, sometimes I get sensible and think a 340i Touring looks cheap (and then I come to my senses!)
Can you give me a link to the good M3/4 deals?
Thanks
You could do performance derv for a year then back to powerful petrol - that will then make it even more special when you get back behind the wheel. One minute its an RS6, next its a M6 GC, sometimes I get sensible and think a 340i Touring looks cheap (and then I come to my senses!)

Thanks
Then again YOLO

There are a stack of plug in options available for the M4 so don't worry too much about that. If I go M3/M4 I plan to mod a little too - chip, exhaust, and some external performance parts - mainly front splitter.Maybe I just keep my C63 indefinitely, until the new C63 Coupe has some offers.

I am hopeful that there may be something like a Cobb AccessPort/Bluefin/Evolve flash device that I can use, do you know what's about? They was a certain grey area around those as to whether BMW could see if you'd flashed the car and removed it, but hasn't been proven. I'm guessing the BMS JB4 is all over this car? That does worry me a little, as it meant messing around with ECU wires on my old N54's, and wasn't THAT easy to install or remove for dealer visits; not sure how I'd feel about doing that do a £60k car yet.1Addicted said:

No Bluefin flash device, but yes to JB4 style devices.Problem with remaps is that with the current BMW ECUs you do have to physically open to remap and I'm not a fan of that. Also causes problems when the car has the ECU upgraded.
I've got a plug and play chip in my 640d and had the same in my 135i. Never had any issues - codes in early examples but not since.
I'll likely go JB4+ or newer if I go down the M4 path, it looks like a 20min job to me depending if any plastics covers need removing. Might YouTube it... https://www.x-ph.com/burger-tuning-bms-jb4-stage-2...

A year ago I was faced with the very same dilemma! Do I off-load a two year old 6.2 litre low mileage C63 coupé (with performance pack) that I've had since new - in favour of the new 4.0 litre Bi-turbo with all it's modifications, alleged improvements and much improved fuel efficiency?Firstly of course only the saloon was available - a lovely motor - but not quite what I was looking for.
Secondly - that engine noise of the 6.2 litre C63 - oh that engine noise.
Pure, natural and ear-gasmic. I know for a fact that in production of the AMG GTS two seater (same engine as the new C63) - MB went through 115 exhausts types/variants before they even came close to the sound that the 6.2 litre barks out. How many they went through for the new 4.0 litre C63 I've no idea - but I would suggest there's a large element of that sound that is perhaps "cosmetic"
Then (with a "sensible head" on!) I considered the financial aspect. What exactly am I getting that's so much better than my current C63 - and more to the point - what would I be getting that's worth the financial loss the moment I drive it out of the showroom?
My current 6.2litre looks great, drives great, brings a huge smile to my face and……did I mention that noise?!
So - I bought my vehicle outright. I love it - absolutely love it.
For the past 12 years I have changed my cars every two or three years - so for me to keep a car beyond that time span is unusual to say the least.
This car though ticks ALL the boxes that I need to be ticked!
Another consideration is the fact that you still have a year to go on your manufacturer's warranty - so by getting a new car it's an expensive way of getting further warranty. Another factor that's worth consideration is that the residual values for the "old" C63 may (possibly have) plateaued since the arrival of the new 4.0 litre Bi-turbo. Though it'll be quite some time of course before the values "head north" like the Lancia Delta Integralé or the Escort Cosworth have done - who knows?
Finally - then there's that "excuse of an i-pad" in the new C63 (and all new Mercs?) - a device that's been lobbed onto the top of the dash as an after thought!!! It's as if after production Mercedes Benz said (in German of course) - "Mmmm what have we forgotten? Mmmmm - oh sh*t! - Sat Nav!! Quick - let's put a tablet on the dash! "
My advice- if it still brings a huge smile to your face - then stick with your current C63 6.2 litre motor. You won't regret it!
The best of luck whatever you decide sir!
Cheers

Just resurrecting this thread
Spent alot of time researching M3 Comps and went to see a few
But in my heart I know the estate is the right choice for me given 3 small boys
Today I went to Gatwick MB; they had loads of C63 to look at
I had never seen a C63s up close; inside looks a lovely place to be. Those seats have a real sense of occasion
Has anyone had any luck with any deals?
I am finding a C63s Estate with Premium pack and wheel upgrade etc is dangerously close to an RS6 price with the offers (14-15% off) they are doing......
