hello everyone, Im new to this site and i have a personal interest in mercs.

I am after some feedback from the members.

We are looking at opening an independent Mercedes specialist in the north Buckinghamshire area, with the main dealers being so pricey and the service not being what it used to be, do you feel comfortable taking your Mercedes to a specialist rather than a main dealer?

If you were to buy a Mercedes would you like to see a MB stamp in the service book or a MB specialist stamp in the book?

Also to those of you who already use the specialists, what was it that tempted you away from the main dealers?

any comments would be appreciated and please feel free to discuss.

I apologise in advance if this in the wrong section :

thanks

We take our SLK to a specialist, we started with Trident in Uxbridge as the MB dealer in Uxbridge were a bunch of ignorant gits, Steve at Trident is ex MB, charges reasonably and knows what he's talking about.

Downside, when the AMS went reently he didnt have the latest software to sort out the problem and it ended up at the MB garage we hated in the 1st place :bangshead:

Personally I will not use the dealer however, this stems from a bad experiance of dealership many years ago and a distrust of their work.

I use an independant garage run by a chap that I new from school and I now he does a good job. The guy is very religious and when the service book says greece the door hinges you can bet your life he greeced them.
