What was that mercedes supercar that was announced 18 months ago (??) 400+ bhp, 0-60 in 3.9 (something along those lines) with gull wing doors, and has production begun yet?

SLR. Built by McLaren. Judging by the fact all the magazines have had finished cars to test drive, I guess customer car deliveries will have started by now.

Unless you mean the smaller "Project 8" car which is still far from production.
