W219 CLS Bork potential

I've been looking at getting an E60 M5 circa 2005/6 vintage. To me it has a fantastic combination of practicality, refinements and the fun factor. However, there seems to be a high degree of bork potential with them especially some of the earlier models. This has put me off a little and made me start looking at later models at BMW stealers to get the two year warranty.

The CLS really turned my head and I was therefore wondering about the CLS63AMG or the CLS55 as also good combinations of the practicality, refinement and the fun factor but with the addition of better looks! I'm completely unfamiliar with these cars and so I was hoping you could help either point me in the right direction or let me know your thoughts on bork potential and general running costs.

Had my CLS55 AMG for a few months now (almost bought SFO's, but he decided to keep it; I don't blame him...) and love it. No issues in 5,000 (mostly fast motorway) miles. Averaged 23mpg.

There are a few rough high-milers out there. Drive plenty and buy the best you can find; any issues will be expensive to fix.

Fantastic looking car, IMO. I've had BMW's; this is better.
