Thanks for the reply. There is an empty cubby underneath the handbrake. Otherwise, what am I looking for?

I've found a pull out draw under the arm rest that looks like it might have a male plug that would slide into the bottom of some phones. I suspect my phone is too big for the drawer, it definately won't fit the plug!

I think 355spider guy is referring to one one these - not sure if you get them for a B Class but you do in an E like mine.

Here are all the other MB phone kits/cradles, etc

Try asking your local dealer to check the original build spec using the VIN (telephone pre-wiring is a factory fit option).

I don't know about the B Class but my 2008 SLK does not need any pre-wiring. My SLK has Command and all I needed to do is simply pair the bluetooth on the Command system taking no more than 2 minutes. Now anytime I get into the car, it automatically pairs to my phone with bluetooth, be the phone in a pocket, in the glove compartment or boot.

hi there.

yes, that is exactly what i was referring to.
you will not have bluetooth facilities unless you have one of these devices plugged in; they sell for about £100 on ebay, but you must be sure it is the correct version for your model of car.
a quick call to your dealer stating your chassis number shall confirm if your car has telephone pre-wire installed; i'm pretty sure if you have command sat nav built in you shall.

OK thanks. I don't have sat nav though. Just plain old Audio 20. I'll contact the dealer and ask if it is prewired.

Mikey_W, can I take you up on that offer too? I'd like to know which unit I'd need for my Dad's B200, to make the phone into a SAP enabled Bluetooth unit.

I'd also like to know the full spec on the car, if poss smile

If you are able to help, I'll happily PM you the chassis number.

Cheers

It probably doesn't have the telephone pre-wire. Check the VIN number with a MB dealer or post it on one of the MB forums to get a datacard.
