Replacement speakers 300SL

The speakers seem a bit tinny on my 1993 300SL. The head unit is a relatively new panasonic so I dont think it is that, from past experience it is normally the speakers at fault. Can anyone advise a good replacement?

I cannot remember the ins and outs of it, but replacement headunits and R129 SLs generally dont go well together; something to do with the speakers being 1ohm. I briefly googled about changing the speakers in my 2000 car but gave up after a brief forum-search. Try MBClubUK as I found a lot of info on there.
