Changing trim

Looking at a 2009 CLK I want to change the wood trim to aluminum, dealer says about 1k must be a hell of a lot of cash for a few bits of aluminum any advice on a cheaper way of doing this, thanks

Taste is a matter of taste, I suppose.

The trim is very expensive to buy new. It's not that difficult to fit, albeit not exactly the work of a moment, either.

You could buy it used off Ebay. Or you may be able to get some stick-on alu-or carbon-effect stuff. You'll probably find that on Ebay, too. I understand it can be quite good.

Find another CLK or get it wrapped.

A friend of mine wrapped his 4.8 X5 wood trim in aluminium 3 M film. I'd personally be hard pushed to tell the difference between the real article and the wrap. It's even cold to the touch.

Would be more cost effective to sell and buy one with the right trim TBH. Dealer is right the cost is expensive, and not only that you'll harm the resale values

Hi Ian.

I have a 209 CLK Sport with wood trim (Black Ash) which is what i was looking for.
It took a while as most trim seams to in alloy.

If you buy of Ebay & fit your self,
You may make on selling on the wood trim ?
