Keyless go gremlins - any ideas?
Discussion
Happy Monday all,
I have a 2004 clk 55 AMG .....runs great, but had a small issue this weekend that I hope one of you loveley peeps will be able to help me with ......
It has the keyless go feture (not the card, guess the transponder is on the key somewhere) ....have had a wierd intermitent fault....sometimes the plipper won't open the car, sometimes it will ....if it does open the car then if I try to start the car with the button on the gear selector, I get told 'key not recognised'..again this is not always the case ......kind of worrying ...this seems to happpen with both keys ....and started very suddenly
would really appreciate any ideas
snaz

i agree with changing the batteries first as thats the cheap option, secondly where the push/start button is, you can also flip it off and insert the key like normally done. this wont need any power from the battery as it picks up the infared signal on the end of the key.
that sounds like the current S class keyless go.CLK keyless go button is on top of gearstick, and key goes in where it would in a non keyless go car
