Black SL500 wanted

Looking to upgrade existing SL500 for newer one. Only conditions - MUST be Black and 1 or 2 years old. Would also like sat nav. Does anyone one know of a private sale aound?

Sat Nav is standard on the new shape 500. Lots in the Sunday Times etc for £50-60k. Best of luck - I had one for a while and was well impressed. A big improvement on the previous model.

Slightly better than Autotrader is Yahoo cars. It is essential Autotrader but you get some added search features without having to sign up to Autotrader.

Im suspecting that SL55s as new as that are only going to be found at dealers though since peoiple will probably be PX'ing them for newer ones.

Edited: Im talking out of my arse. Just had a look on Autotrader and there are loads of black ones on there.

Go the whole hog and Buy my April 2003 SL55AMG in Black! 19k miles. All the bits, available in October when the SL65 arrives...

Got a set of Brabus 20" wheels I throw in as well. OIRO £85k.

Sorry to be a killjoy but two months ago a main dealer offered me their demo SL55 (£103k list) for £86k and it was only five months old.

Forgot to add, SL55 is the best car you can buy for less than the price of an SL65 at the moment - please let us know how you get on with the latter.

Never knew the Brabus 20" cost that much - makes the £1395 I spent on Brabus shocks and springs for my CLK500 cab look like a give away!

I miss my Pandas - they were great for driving around London in the late 80's. Mind you on one of them the battery acid leaked and corroded the brake lines!

Enjoy the SL500. it is a great car and can carry so much speed around corners that it feels slow on the straights but its fast enough really. Look around for a demo car and haggle. There's lots of new cars hanging around at dealers at the moment and with autumn coming they should be keen to offload a 3+ mth old demo and get another one registered. Try Sytner in Bristol/Swindon as they are usually good value.

Thanks for the input - have just placed a deposit on a black SL55 AMG - picking up on Friday. Bit of a bonus, they advertised it £2.5k lower in the paper than it should be. Nice error!

Andrew - thanks for your help. Got the Sunday Times and found a few. The car's coming from Bristol - got a great deal, I'll post up a photo on my profile this weekend.
