W212 E-Class a couple of questions

Hi all,

So we collected our car during the week, we're planning a trip to France leaving Thursday.

I've read bits of the manual but just wanted to check 2 things:

1. On UK cars with Direct Select you can't see the external temperature as it's permanently set to km/h - is that right? or is there a menu/override that shows it?

2. How can the headlights be adjusted for European driving if you don't have the intelligent light system (I'm not sure if we have that option). Is it going to have to be some black tape on the light? If so, where is the correct spot for it?

Just been out for a play with the menus, was getting a little worried about the temp display...

I found the intelligent light settings so that's good and I found the outdoor temp display, it's on the main trip screen rather than permanently displayed below the line on the screen.
