S65 vs S63

Having just spent a few bob on new tyres, bump and scratch repairs etc on my S65, i was intrigued as to how the S63 car would feel to drive vs my S65. I will change my car at some point and i cant think of anything else to replace it with so i thought lets see!

The S63 sounded great, but I wasnt sure I wanted that noise all the time. The engine felt rougher and had to work harder longer and it was not as smooth thats for sure. The decision i came up with is that my S65 could only be replaced with another! Great.

But then the salesmen said that there might NOT be a replacement for the S65!!!! Does anyone know any different?

I'd be surprised to hear that there will be no S65 in the new model. There is a new SL65 after all with the new 7 speed gearbox. I've just sold my 08 S65 and was looking forward to seeing what the new model was like.

I'd be amazed if there wasn't an S65 when the new model's launched, although they don't sell in huge numbers it's a great flagship model for MB.

I'd love to have a go in anything with that engine. Got a c63 at the minute but a v12 calls at some point in the not too distant future before they disappear for good.

Salesman knows nothing or is trying to get you at it . There will be s65 and a model above that , a kind of modern day grosser to replace maybach .

To be honest that is what it felt like, noisy but wanting.

Seriously though, there is a new S coming and it has the seven speed box too. I will be waiting a while though as no chance I'd swap mine and take the impending depreciation bath. My next upgrade will be to a Mk2 W221 with the better leccy bits hopefully in 18-24 months.
