Is a SLK 320 considered a "ladies" car?
Discussion
Sounds like your son-in-law loves a good cliche.
Are you really bothered about what he thinks? Are you worried you might want to become a hairdresser if you buy one?
My weekend toy is an MX-5, I've had it for 2 years, I've neither taken up bumming other men nor styling hair, if you like the SLK, buy it, they're good cars.

Of all the 'hairdresser cars' (and I've had a couple myself, a crap Audi TT, a nice MX5 and an amazing MR2 Turbo - though I'm not sure the last one really fits the pattern, others have suggested it was a hairdresser's car) the SLK strikes me as the most feminine looking.
However, I'm sure it's a great drive and ultimately, do the looks and what other people think bother you enough to stop you getting one? Would you rather go and get a 'manly' car like a diesel Audi or Vectra, or whatever these dullards who obsess over hairdresser's cars drive?
If anyone ever challenges you, tell them it's your wife's car. Then get back to enjoying it yourself!

I suppose any decent sports car with a metal roof and a degree of comfort is considered to be a hairdresser's car by those more used to British cars?
Such as some self-destructive Blackpool kit car which smells like a Tupperware picnic box. Or some product of the 1970s with a flapping canvas roof which is prone to leaving a trail of oil-soaked pig iron in its wake, before expiring by the road side in a cloud of steam?
I enjoyed my SLK320, but my current SLK32 AMG is even better fun, if less comfy. Although it does have designo 'bordeaux' seats, which are definitely NOT pink....

Thanks for all the opinions "guys" but I think my was made up beforehand. After checking on road reports and owner reports on this model Mercedes I've bought it. I took a beating on trading my Mazdz RX8 but that was costing me a fortune on repairs and couldn't a decent Mazda dealer to look afer it. Hope things are better with Mercedes.

every time the sun shines and your finger clicks the button to make the roof disappear, you will know you made the right decision!Gassing Station | Mercedes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
