Bluetoothing Contacts into a C Class...
Discussion
Just collected my new C Class 220 Sport Estate and just love it!
However, playing with the Audio 20 Media player, etc., and linking my HTC Desire by Bluetooth.
No problem with getting the phone and car to speak to each other but I do not seem to be able to get my contacts from the phone and into the car's memory.
Handbook says it should do so automatically but it doesn't!
Anyone any clues for me?
I have linked my wife's HTC Wildfire as well and her contacts haven't dropped in either!
I am sure I must be missing something but this is my first time with a bluetooth equipped car......
Thanks.
Andrew

I just connected my blackberry to my E220 ( with command) and it just auto synced all my contacts, I didn't have to do anything.
You tried looking in the phone book in the car?
I think it can be phone dependent. I've got the latest version of COMAND and it auto syncs with my Blackberry, can read texts on screen etc, but the missus has some touch screen thing, Sony Experia I think, and doesn't seem to have the same functionality with COMAND, should it?You tried looking in the phone book in the car?

How does the txt thing work, do you have to do anything?
I found it by accident, someone sent a text to me when the phone was paired by bluetooth with the COMAND system and a little envelope appears on screen similar to the way it would on your phone. Switch COMAND over to telephone, there should be 3 options at the bottom of the screen you can go to, the middle being SMS and there's your text!It also allows you to bring up and read other texts on your phone that were sent previously which is nice

ETA I've just read the COMAND manual and the only thing I can see that would indicate why anyone is having problems is that it states the mobile phone must support the MAP Bluetooth profile (Message Access Profile) - maybe some phones do and some don't?

Is yours via blue tooth?
I think I've got a blackberry curve.
Also, how long does it take to used to the fact the gear selector is where the wiper stalk should be?
Yes, bluetooth, but with the BB Bold 9900 which is only a month or so old so is pretty bang up to date.I think I've got a blackberry curve.

Steering column mounted gear selector is only standard across 2012 cars I think, my lowly 2011 car has the standard gear selector on transmission tunnel, oh well, one cant have the latest phone and the latest car, something's got to give
