C32 AMG ESP problem
Discussion
Hi,
I own a 2001 c32 amg (European model) and have an issue with that I think is the ecu. Basically while driving the car will slam on the brakes to the front passenger wheel for a second or two and then register an ESP fault.
However when the engine is switched for more than 30mins the fault clears itself and the next time I set off it does it again!
The car is located in Spain (but I'm located in England) and I've had the local Mercedes garage and local mechanics look at it but they can't find a fault.
It's like having a ghost in the system!
Anyone got any ideas on how to cure it?

It does it randomly and is sort of dangerous but cos it sits in the back of my mind i wait for it to happen and it doesn't really bother me anymore.
I had brought it home once before and my local merc specialist checked it top to toe but couldn't work it out so don't think it's the brake sensor.
Rolling road sounds likes a possibility but in Spain trying that stuff is like getting blood out of a stone! I'll have to bring car here to try it out.
Only thing it's a proper mission to drive it over 1200 miles from Spain to London and then another 1200 to take it back!
Do u guys think replacing the cars ecu might cure it?

I recently sent the car to a friend in stuttgart who knows a merc specialist. they went through the ecu and it had a long list of fault codes. he went through each & every thing and got it all sorted out. if you want, you can send me your details & i'll pass it onto my friend who can try to help you out
