Ipad question

I have a canon 50D, an external hard drive, a data only dongle with 3 and a windows laptop
The 50D uses a compact flash memory card.
What I want to know is how to transfer info and photos from each of the items.
I have been to the usual high street shops and had differing answers searched the internet but other than finding that the usb/camera adaptor used to work with the older software but doesn’t appear to work anymore with the new version
What advice can anyone offer?

The Camera adapter should plug straight into the iPad and transfer them to the version of iPhoto on your iPad.

Well it works with my Canon400d

It didn't work in currys with the camera adaptor and my 50D

Searching the internet it looks like Apple have changed the sortware so it no longer workd on the new sorfware 4.something
