Any one here sit on any product user groups?

Have you found it worthwhile?

Did it assist your career at all?

1) Yes.

2) Not really.

3) I get free software for it, and a foot in the door of a major software supplier.

Are you a board member of said group or just a member?

I've been asked to Chair a new user association and I really dont know if its worth it. The vendor has said they will do all the paper pushing behind the scenes and provide all the facilities etc but I just dont know...

a.) Oui, not myself, but the entire department I work in

b.) My colleagues achieved a lot of improvements and features to be realised.

c.) Not long enough a member, but you get contacts to similar departments in other companies, which could have watched your activity over a longer period.

Used to before changing jobs

Got to try new software early.
