Please can someone help me before I go mad. Working away, and quite often while mouse is in hand, or laying dormant, the pointerwill just randomly move, so when I go to click on the thing i want to, it's somewhere else! And REALLY annoying, anyone got any suggestions?

You wouldn't happen to be hitting the mouse pad with your other hand by any chance?

Failing that, poltergeist, definately.

Try taking out the ball from the bottom of the mouse and cleaning it and the rollers inside.

Either that or buy an infrared one

poltergeist without a doubt. You need to hold a seance around your desk to drive away the evil spirit. Either that or get/steal a new mouse

Optical mice sometimes have problems with the mouse mat they are sitting on, any white or reflective surfaces can make them jump around or move erratically.
