Has anyone dabbled with one of these kits? What are they like?
Its on www.chillblast.com and the kit is about £300. But can reduced the temp down to -25oC!!!!

Unless you are into EXTREME overclocking (fiddling with the pins and solder etc) its money that could be better spent elsewhere...

Sounds like something some guys in the engineering department did - they immersed the whole motherboard in hexane, and chilled it with dry ice, and overclocked a P90 up to about 200 MHZ!!!

Why? Why? Why?

CPU in relative terms these days is so cheap, whats the bloody point in wringing all you can out of some poor CPU that will eventually go pop?

IT related akin to pulling legs off spiders.

nope, it's about getting the most you possibly can out of a purchase...

The kit you're looking at will be quite noisy, far better to get something like a Zalman or similar and run in pure silence compared to faster and VERY NOISY

Do you add bits to your engine to make to "faster"? Kinda the same thing.

2.8Ghz P4 clocked to 4Ghz! That alone is worth the asking price if your hobby/work involves intensive CPU work. All for something that is cheaper than the fastest P4CPU.
