Does anyone know where they have the new Ipod (15GB in particular) in stock in London?

I've tried various PC Worlds and some shops in Tottenham Court Road but no one seems to have any.

Any ideas?
Cheers

Now I'm guessing a bit, but you could try Micro Anvika. There is a posh store at the South end of TCR, and a Mac-only store down a side road (just opposite Goodge Street Station). If you can't see one, ask. They might send you to one of their other stores.
One tip: make sure your credit card remains in sight at all times (it was on the telly).

Other good bets would be:
Albion Computers (Mortimer Street, western end, or call 020 7550-7609)
Apple Centre (New Oxford Street)
John Lewis (Oxford Street, top floor)

If you can wait a day, check:
www.cwonline.co.uk (T: 02084001234)
www.macwarehouse.co.uk (T:0800 801936)
Mac Warehouse were very helpful when I called about Ethernet kit, good value, and delivered next day.

I believe they are in short supply. I was going to get one from duty free, but they are on back order, and go the day they come in (limited one off order numbers). The 15Gb is most popular, as you get all the extras plus the extra 5Gb, for only 50GBP more.

Yep, Duty Free had them 4 weeks ago, but haven't had any since (when I go through every Monday at 07:30)

Apple often hold back the popular model to get rid of surplus, rather than doing a good deal (unless there is new stuff on the way).

People have purchased them too quickly and Apple didn't expect the uptake.

Plus the UK and Europe is a poor relation to the USA

I have one tho (got it when they first came out - the 15GB g3) and love it.

I ordered directly from Apple UK online.
It turned up just over a week later, direct from California, so am assuming there is an extremely short supply of them in UK at the mo.
Well chuffed with it though!

There are meant to come from Taiwan and Signapore for the UK, is yours the USA version or UK then?

Apple Store UK was dire for me and kept post-poning my order.

New iPod on the way by all accounts, colour screen, movie capability etc. Also there is an FM radio add on for the current iPods coming out soon...

The box says Designed in California, Made in Taiwan!
Haven't got the outer packaging that it was delivered in, but it was definately sent via air mail and am pretty sure it came from the States!
As far as I know though it's a normal UK model!

Plotless, people always surmise about new Tech and the iPod is no different. The suggestion is that the iPod's are replaced every 6-7 months but the gap between the g3 & the g4 was longer than that.
The other thing is that most of the iPod users don't want that sort of kit on a music player - thats a PDA's job.

If you wait around for tech to become available, or the next release you will end up waiting far too long - I had to wait from September to April because of talk of a new iPod to be released...
