Anyone got any experience of adding the necessary rules so the firewall doesn't block Interdev's access to the local web server?

Ted,

I don't have a problem with the std setup of Norton firewall on my PC with Interdev. Home PC is 98SE and PWS rather than IIS so don't know if this makes a diff compared with a proper server. Work Laptop doesn't have NAV/NPF so can't help there. Sorry!

If I get a mo this evening I'll have a look at the home setup for you.

Dont you just love cuddly GUI's!

On the firewall page in Norton there should be an options button top right, its off there I think.

Will check again tonight though...

Erm... don't know if this will help much as i don't know what all those computer words you lot said mean but i have downloaded norton firewall and was having problems accesing parts of PH so i went to the options tab-click...internet security-click....web content-click....add site-click.... add url for PH..... click on PH url now added in list.....then permit for everything on all 3 tabs except info about visited sites. On Add Blocking Tab Add url for PH-permit.
Hope this helps but like i said i'm a bit stupid when it comes to comps.
Oh Dear just realised that i have no idea what interdev is so my post is probably drivvle!- leave it to the experts i think!

Ted

I have to turn my Norton Anti-Virus's scrpt blocking option off before I can get any .asp pages to run in interdev. I don't have Norton Firewall but there may be a similar option in it.

Thanks guys. It turned out I had a corrupt metabase so my local IIS was a bit shagged anyway. Uninstalled IIS, had to put SP4 on to reinstall it, reinstalled the firewall and after a day dicking about I'm working again I think.
