Since my rebuild whenever I open Outlook or a new window on the web it opens in a tiny screen which I have to maximise - is there a a way of telling the computer to always open screens to maximum size?

Cheers

Don't hit the Maximize button....resize it manually and then close and reopen. That should fix it. Normally windows are opened at the size in which they were last opened, if that makes sense.

IE windows come back at the size you left them, but in 'normal' (i.e. not maximised or minimised) mode. As you haven't resized the window (you've just maximised it) its 'normal' size remains tiny.

Therefore, resize the browser window by dragging its frame out to fill the screen and next time it will come back that way...

{edited to say:} Doh! beaten to it...

Cheers Guys. It worked with my Outlook, but it won't work with my IE. The initial window is fine, but when I click a link - which opens in a new window it is this new window which is small, and manually resizing it isn't working. It's only a small thing, but, like I say - a bit irritating.

Basically, until you've closed the 1st window, the new default size won't have been saved.

Open IE. Resize it. Close IE.

RE-open IE (nice new size). Click a link (also nice new size!)

another useful tip along those lines.

If you have your browser set to a certain window size and a web page you have opened has resized the window (as some of them try to do ) then open a new window, do whatever you need to in the old window, close the old window and make sure you close the new window last.

That way your window size won't get screwed up.
