Hi
I'm a after a tablet for watching films whilst flying/traveling, this will be for mainly playback of downloaded media but maybe occasionally streaming.

So the more platforms it can deal with smoothly the better ie Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Sky Go etc.

Speaker performance irrelevant as I will always be using headphones.

Goes without saying that picture quality (including reflection issues) are a big priority.

Would prefer to keep it below £200 but could be a bit flexible on that if I really need to.

Appreciate any advice.

Thanks very much

I've had a Blackview 9" tablet for the last three years for this very purpose. Works with all my streaming apps.

I've had to use it twice as my emergency phone while on holiday when my real phone was lost (it wasn't, but I didn't have use of it for 3 weeks), and then bricked itself at the airport the next holiday - so an LTE version not the WiFi only version was a blessing. The camera is OK, but it was the only one I had.

I've also had 8" Lenovo - a bit too small, and a 10" one as well - slightly too big. The 9" one has a magnetic plate stuck on the back and I've used it as a SatNav.

I'd go for the same size again, just make sure you get one with as much RAM as possible.

I want a decent size, it'll be carried in my hand luggage so doesn't need to be ultra portable. I think my very old ipad (which I lost) as 10.9 inches, that seemed about the right size.

Thank you

Keep an eye on the Apple refurb store, standard gen 9 iPad is currently £260.00. Bit over budget but a good option, especially if you have other Apple kit.

2nd hand or refurbed iPad

I’ve had LOTS of tablets inc numerous Android ones; none come close to the iPad IMO

I’d go with the above and get the iPad from Apple Refurb, will have full Apple 1 year warranty which you could extend if you wanted as well

I bought a 4 year old iPad Pro 12.9 recently from CEX. Graded condition Good . . . It was mint & very happy with it, obviously outside OP’s budget but as an example . . .
