Reliable Windows laptop, £500 max
Discussion
You should be able to get a decent Lenovo or Asus for that money - get something with 16GB RAM but other than that it is much of a muchness for general use.
Hardest thing will be finding stock. I've helped 3 people buy a laptop in the past week for a similar budget, all 3 got ASUS machines, 2 from the ASUS Amazon page and 1 from EE. AO seemed expensive for what they had and Currys and John Lewis have very little stock.

Would be perfect if it was in stock...I bought one of these in Nov 2024:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DBM4RSWB?ref_=ppx_hz...
For general windows stuff, Office, websites etc, it's fine.
But it shows how prices have gone up. So 2 years ago now, I paid £240 for it. Now it's £450.
But they do have them in stock.
