iOS mail app - PDF download slow
Discussion
Why does it take an absolute age to download a pdf attachment in the Mail app.
Even on 500mbps download speeds it xan take a minute or two. Although it’s no better or worse on mobile data.
I can watch 4k videos effortlessly but a PDF…pfff!!!
The files are about 300-400kb
Anyway of speeding this up?

What’s the underlying mail account?
I’ve never noted an issue with iCloud / Office365 Accounts, but if you’re using a free mail provider or similar, it’s could be server related - that and, despite the popularity of Email as a file sending method, the underlying protocols really aren’t the best for it - They’re all hodgepodge boltons to the original standard.
Another thought, are you connected to mobile data? It may be worth disabling mobile data and testing whilst connected to WiFi; It’s possible the download is still running via 4G when connected to WiFi..

No difference whether on 500mbps wifi or 4g / 5g.
It only happens on my iPhone using the Mail app. On my laptop it’s instant.
