Tablet options

We need 3 tablets to run around 3-4 apps only, on WiFi, for an indoor gym set up that uses interactive tech, run by the apps.

Our instinct was to go straight to Apple as we currently use iPhones to run the apps and it works fine but we need “static” devices for different coaches to access.

3 iPads would be £1000-ish, but 3 Lenovo M11 would be £400.

Would the Lenovo be ok to get us going, and last around 12 months?

What about the A16 iPads? They're £250 each. Alternatively there's the Galaxy S10 lite tablets at the same price.

Yeah it’s more about functionality of them, don’t use any android products and so used to Apple, so more unsure of things like lagging and general accessibility and so on.

What I would say is that both Apple and Samsung now have full OS support for 7 years minimum, so you should be good for years with them whereas I'm not sure if Lenovo might have support beyond 2.

I've the version of the M11 launched in 2024.
It's now exactly 12 months old as I got it last Christmas.

I'd advise against it if you want a seamless experience for your paying members/customers.

They will experience random slowdowns and a little jank.

You'd need to spend a bit more for that smooth jank-free experience.

Samsung tablets are fine once you remove all the Samsung bloatware off them.

Mrs Griff is sitting beside me on her 3 year old Lenovo. It doesn't lag, it doesn't explode, she's not been defrauded (though she, nor the OP I assume, isn't planning on banking on their tablets).

You really are not going to notice performance differences on Android tabs unless hard core gaming, or, if you are talking about cheapo Amazon no name tabs.

Samsung is becoming the Apple of Android in terms of people spunking more money than they need to for the brand alone (and yes. I've had a Sammy tab, and it wasn't as good as the Lenovo it replaced)

Lenovo tabs are excellent, and exceedingly cheap. If I were buying tabs for staff to use in a gym I'd want ones that are cheap enough to be disposable. Lenovo fit this bill, and are damn good to boot.

OP - I undertand you are familiar with iOs, but the apps will be the same on either platform. As long as you are happy going from one phone where you press an icon to launch the app to a tablet where you ..... press one icon to launch the same app , you are really not going to notice any difference.
