Can anybody recommend a phone holder that can hold a large mobile phone (Iphone 16 Pro plus leather case).

I'd prefer something that clamps to the top of the dash or windscreen rather than something that plugs into a vent but it needs to be really robust. I'm a bit sick of holders that start flopping about after a couple of months. The reviews on Amazon aren't reliable so I'd prefer personal experience recommendations from PHers

Thanks in advance

Possibly me being an idiot but they all look like vent-type holders?

This basic Halfords one works really well, I have to re sucker it to the screen every 3 or 4 months but otherwise it's rock solid and built in wireless charger

Thanks - unfortunately Ive had problems with that type of holder - the arms not being deep enough or strong enough, and the phone slowly sliding down and out.

Im going to be getting one with feet to stop the phone sliding down.

They do vehicle-specific Proclips - the items on the page linked to are only the phone half of the mount. You need another part to mount onto the dash/windscreen.

I’ve got these plus the vent holder MagSafe versions and they’re faultless with my 16 Pro Max in its rugged UAG case - have them in both my E81 and F31 - would highly recommend

Ah - thanks for clarifying.

I'd need to move it between different cars so (being the bone idle sod that I am) Id probably want something more portable

I've got one of theirs like this, works really well. Strong enough for a solid fixing without risking damaging the vents. https://www.amazon.co.uk/UGREEN-Compatible-MagSafe...

That’s exactly what I’ve got for both too; MagSafe magnet is very strong and its design means you can clamp it down tight without it doing any damage

I have one of those, they are very good.
I got fed up with ones that would fall off or sag over time, no such problems with this one.

I use Quadlock mounts in both my cars (inc wireless charging) and also on my MTB - very solid

Yes - it needs a Quadlock case for the phone which adds to the cost, but I would always use a case anyway

Not cheap, but excellent quality

Yep - bought the Vanmass model in my link above.

It’s always a gamble buying things on Amazon, you don’t know how genuine the reviews are. However this turned out pretty good.

It arrived next day, very neat packaging, it’s a very good quality, all the bits fit together very easily and quickly.

It gives you 2 options: top of dashboard fitting or air vent fitting. Unfortunately the dashboard needs to be quite flat (and the one in the XC60 has quite a few curves) so I used the air vent fitting instead. Whilst the holder was fine I realised the air vent was a bit loose which meant that the phone wobbled a lot. However it coped ok for the 600 mile round trip.

It can also be fitted to the windscreen and I think I’ll try that next time.

Overall I’d definitely recommend it.

Thanks mate smile I'd probably go for the windscreen mounting as my dash definitely ain't flat and being a mini the air vent is a fairly unconventional design.
