My son is vey much into online gaming and on his PC has been building / designing his own Avatars (he is autistic and loves this as a way to show his style)

Anyway, I am trying to understand this area - I know nothing about PC gaming, steam as an example. He has some basic software in a game I think that allows him to design avatars.

So I wanted to see and find if there is any off the shelf software to allow him to do this.

I bit a little research and there seems to be a few but I have no idea what I am looking at, what a scams and are full of viruses. Hence this question.

Do any of you know of some reliable and safe software that I can go and try, see, download for him??

Thanks in advance - and apologies if there are follow up questions that I have no idea about!!!!

Assuming you have a decent pc and gpu and fast interwebs you could try amuse https://www.amuse-ai.com/
It gives easy access to loads of image generating llms, but they are all chunky bois, 10gb+ downloads.
But it does text to image, image to image, videos, etc.
Access to full resolution for free, no limits, no upselling, yadda
