Am at a crossroads with consoles, do not really want to pay the money for a PS5, I do not consider the vast hike in price worth it, IA switch could still cost you 300 quid
So started looking at Meta, I have a semi desire to play a few PC games using it, is this possible with a Meta 3 (supposedly the best one), I gather you can use a cable to do this. Presume you cannot use it on Ps4.
But regarding the basic system, I presume there is free stuff still? And you purchase games and apps from a Meta store,?

You can use USB cable or Wifi for streaming off a PC.So started looking at Meta, I have a semi desire to play a few PC games using it, is this possible with a Meta 3 (supposedly the best one), I gather you can use a cable to do this. Presume you cannot use it on Ps4.

There's a Steamlink client for it. Will let you stream regular steam games from your PC to the headset and also SteamVR too, though if you want to stream VR then Virtual Desktop is really the best solution.
There's also a Xbox Gamepass client which is very good and lets you cloud stream regular Gamepass games. Plus GeForce now cloud streaming works via the Meta browser (supposed to be a client coming).
It's set up to use the Meta store to get apps from but you can sideload things with some faffing around. I've never felt the need though. Quite a bit of free stuff and experiences if you want to just play around or impress visitors. Youtube actually has some good VR-compatible footage (180 and 360 degree video) .. I've been down ski slopes that I've done in real life .. very impressive.
For the price of the base 3s model it's all pretty impressive. Worth going for the full Quest3 for the superior optics and larger storage space though it is quite a bit more expensive.
